    The Turkish Van is well adapted to temperature extremes, with a very long, thick coat and mane during winter that sheds leaving only a short coat in the summer. Turkish Vans have water-resistant coats and love to swim!. Turkish Vans are indigenous to eastern Turkey. Turkish Vans were first brought to Europe by soldiers returning from the Crusades. The most traditional coloring for a Turkish Van is red and white.
